JOB SUMMARY

This is the principal faculty member of the PA Program responsible for

directing the clinical year . The qualified faculty provides high-quality and engaging instruction and academic mentoring and advising to learners. The

clinical coordinator

is responsible for generating and delivering classroom learning experiences and clinical skills instruction within essential medical and clinical science topics based on the individual's qualifications. Work with the Director of the PA program, Medical Director, and other principal faculty to manage the curriculum. The principal faculty will participate in the program's admissions process and maintain awareness of the PA profession.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Teaching Load:

Responsible for generating and delivering classroom learning experiences and clinical skills instruction within the basic medical and clinical science topics based on the individual's qualifications.

Teaching Standards:

Maintain a high standard in classroom teaching through engaging and effective pedagogy.

Accreditation:

Actively participates in the accreditation process, compliance, and adherence to the ARC-PA standards.

Curriculum:

Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the curriculum.

Assessment and Remediation:

Evaluate learner performance and provide remediation instruction.

Admissions:

Participate in the program's admissions process, which includes recruitment and selection.

Programmatic:

Participate in the development, review, and revision of the mission statement, program goals, and competencies.

Program Self-Assessment and Evaluation:

Participate in programmatic data collection and critical analysis.

Advising:

Attend to learner needs and concerns as an advisor.

Scholarship:

Maintain awareness of contemporary trends and evolving knowledge within one's academic discipline.

Service:

Participate in local, state, and national service to the PA profession.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:PA must be NCCPA certified and eligible for a license in Kansas; MD, DO, or APRN must be eligible for a license in Kansas; Must possess a master's or doctorate to teach at the master's level.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:One to three years as a clinician if applicable.

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Previous clinical precepting or teaching experience for a PA program or medical school.

Ability to work collaboratively with fellow university faculty.

Proven ability to teach effectively in a post-secondary classroom.

Ability to adjust to and respond to learner and local university needs.

Proven interpersonal and communication skills.

Commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Passion for educating health professionals.

Competent analytical skills.

Desire to grow as a faculty and leader in PA education.
