Job Summary:

This position is responsible for serving as a full-time faculty member in the College of Nursing. Full-time contracts are 12-month contracts, and the appointee will be designated rank and tenure status by the Provost.

Responsibilities:Instruction:

Designs cognitive, affective, and psychomotor strategies and techniques in classroom and clinical areas to enhance student learning.

Implements theoretical and/or clinical instruction in assigned courses each semester.

Demonstrates a Christ-centered and person-focused professional nurse role model.

Serves as course/program liaison to clinical agencies and community organizations.

Plans clear course outcomes and assesses student evaluations and grades.

Maintains regular office hours.

Student Motivation and Relationships:

Creates activities to assist students in developing critical thinking skills.

Demonstrates interest in the personal and professional growth of students.

Meets with academic advisees as needed and sponsors student organizations.

Professional Responsibilities:

Participates in university committees and program planning as assigned.

Maintains effective interpersonal relationships within the school.

Maintains nursing skills and knowledge through professional development activities.

Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master of Nursing degree. Demonstrated clinical experience in Medical-Surgical is required, along with eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee.

Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to candidates holding a DNP or Ph.D.

Physical Requirements:The work performed by this position is of a general office and classroom nature, requiring the ability to operate a computer and communicate effectively. Some walking on campus and the ability to carry items up to 25 pounds are required.
