The UTRGV School Of Medicine (UTRGV SOM) is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible physician in Internal Medicine to provide both non-teaching and academic internal medicine services. Academic responsibilities will include teaching residents in the outpatient clinical setting and in the classroom. Participation in scholarly activity, faculty development, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, and other administrative and program committees are expected. Also, preparation and presentation of program didactics, grand rounds, and assisting with undergraduate medical education will be assigned at the Chair’s discretion. While previous experience in a residency program teaching role is preferred, individuals just finishing residency training are highly encouraged to apply.As faculty, the physician will also administer and maintain a professional educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competencies and in assisting them to reach their individual Milestones. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with academic experience and credentials.Minimum Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution and must possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical License and completion of ACGME residency. Must be board-eligible/certified in Internal Medicine.Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
