The Department of Philosophy and Political Science at Thomas More University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track assistant professor with benefits beginning Fall 2024. The teaching load is four courses/semester. Other responsibilities include advising, committee work (after the first year), and departmental service. A Ph.D. in Philosophy (or in an affiliated discipline, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in philosophy) is required. We are particularly interested in candidates who will energetically serve our small but vital department by demonstrating a strong commitment to in-person teaching and will also provide student mentorship in order to grow the major. Ideally, the candidate will be able to teach and advise in our new Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) major.Area of Specialization (AOS):

Open, but with ability to teach political and social philosophy, applied ethics, and introduction to philosophy.

Areas of Competence (AOC):

Open.The successful candidate will contribute to a pluralistic and inclusive philosophy curriculum and will complement the research and teaching offerings of the current department members. Our collegial department has a focus on public philosophy and accessible, holistic teaching.
