Position Overview
Primary Function of Organizational UnitThe department offers an English M.A., B.A.s in English, Spanish, and Interdisciplinary Studies, and minors in Spanish, German, philosophy, literature, and writing. We host the Spanish Club, the Ex Umbra literary magazine, the Eagle Creators Society, and several other student clubs and honor societies. Language and Literature faculty contribute to many interdisciplinary initiatives including Women's and Gender Studies, Global Studies, Service Learning, undergraduate research, and Digital Humanities.
Primary Purpose of PositionTo teach courses in Elementary Kiswahili I and II, hold 4-8 office hours per week, prepare course materials, and grade student assignments.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesProven ability to teach college-level Kiswahili to English-speaking students.
Minimum Education/ExperienceThe applicant must hold a M.A. degree with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate coursework in Kiswahili.
Licenses or Certification required by Statute or RegulationNo license or certification required.
