Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Manage, direct, and support development of PCC’s safety and industrial hygiene programs.

Provide support and guidance for PCC manufacturing operations in the following areas:

Safe workplace procedures

New Equipment Review and Approval

OSHA compliance

Safety training

Identification, evaluation, and control of industrial hygiene exposures

Ergonomics

Emergency Response

Hazards Identification

Injury/incident prevention and analysis

Hazardous material management

Handle hazardous waste and complete weekly inspections.

Complete annual hazardous waste management training.

Complete Emergency Coordinator Training.

Support and develop PCC’s industrial safety compliance programs and injury/incident prevention program.

Requisite Skills:

Strong management, interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.

Ability to develop and communicate PCC’s safety program throughout the organization.

Experience in developing safety training programs and business plans.

Familiarity with negotiating and interfacing with outside regulatory agencies.

Strong assessment and writing skills.

Knowledge of Oregon OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory agency requirements.

Ability to interpret safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene regulations.

Advanced personal computing skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

Working knowledge of safety and industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and techniques.

Background:

Five to ten years of progressive safety, environmental, or industrial hygiene experience in a heavy manufacturing setting or as a safety and loss control consultant for a casualty insurer or major insurance broker.

Educational Background:

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Engineering preferred. A Bachelor or Master’s in Chemistry, Biology, Public Health, or Engineering is acceptable with appropriate workplace experience. CSP or CIH preferred; candidates who have passed first exams for CSP or CIH certifications are also acceptable.
