The

National Manager, Safety and Health , oversees the health and safety programs across multiple warehouse locations nationwide, acting as a strategic partner by providing quality, timely, and professional subject matter expertise and business support to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.The National Manager, Safety and Health, leads safety initiatives across multiple disciplines, supervising a team of safety professionals in the field and working closely with warehouse management and the VP, Supply Chain to develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, and financial losses. This role enforces policies, assesses risk, interacts with Federal, State, and Local authorities, conducts safety training, investigates incidents/accidents, and provides recommendations for improvement, aiming to create a safe and compliant workplace.

What you'll be doing:Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in alignment with local regulations and company standards across all warehouse locations, ensuring programs are effective and sustainable.Provide subject matter expertise in safety management and compliance.Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.Provide guidance and support to warehouse management teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate risks and enhance safety performance.Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and incidents, investigating accidents and near misses, and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.Analyze safety data and performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance overall safety culture and performance, while minimizing workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in occupational health and safety, and proactively recommend and implement changes to policies and procedures as necessary.Inspect and ensure safety measures and quality control of field-based operations.Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.Review, monitor, and manage the Worker’s Compensation Claim process. This includes managing the early return to work and modified duty program, monitoring and analyzing accident and injury trends, performing hazard analysis; working directly with the worker’s compensation insurance carrier to investigate all reports in a timely fashion.Conduct regular training and education programs to local teams, developing knowledge of safety and compliance.Ensure the following safety protocols are practiced: Personal Protective Equipment, Machine Safety & Equipment usage, Lockout/Tagout, Hazardous Communication, Evacuation Drills, Fall Prevention, etc.Administer the Drug and Alcohol program by scheduling and monitoring drug and alcohol tests in the following circumstances: reasonable suspicion, post accident, and random.Works with HR for any employee injuries and assists in any return-to-work assistance/modifications needed.Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment.Act as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and incidents, investigating accidents and near misses, and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.Additional duties as assigned.Supervisor Responsibilities:Manages People: YesThis role is responsible for talent management of their team including providing mentorship and guidance, assigning and evaluating work, and performance management.Lead and mentor a team of health and safety professionals located at each warehouse location, providing direction, training, and support to ensure consistency in safety practices and procedures.Develop talent and coach team to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); leading situational and competency awareness and drive safety performance improvementWhat we look for:Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, safety management, or related field preferredOSHA certification, or ability to obtain certification within first 30 days of employmentCPR/First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification within first 30 days of employment5+ years’ experience in managing health and safety programs in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, preferably within the consumer goods industry.3+ years of leadership experienceMust have a valid driver’s licenseExtensive knowledge of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.Understanding of local, national, and international health and safety regulations and standards applicable to warehouse and manufacturing environments.Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies to identify potential hazards and assess the level of risk within various work environments.Familiarity with implementing and managing safety management systems to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in health and safety performance.Awareness of industry best practices and emerging trends in occupational health and safety to enhance program effectiveness.Understanding of emergency response protocols and procedures to effectively respond to incidents and emergencies.Ability to analyze safety data and performance metrics to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions.Capability to lead and motivate a team of safety professionals across multiple locations, fostering a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement.Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey safety policies, procedures, and expectations to employees, management, and other stakeholders.Excellent problem-solving skills to identify root causes of safety issues, develop corrective actions, and implement solutions to mitigate risks.Expertise in designing and delivering effective training programs to educate employees on safety protocols, procedures, and best practices.Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate with employees, management, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholdersCapacity to make informed and timely decisions in high-pressure situations to ensure the safety of employees and protect company assets.Skill in remaining calm and composed during crisis situations, taking decisive action to minimize risks and ensure the safety of all personnel.Competence in managing multiple projects simultaneously, setting priorities, allocating resources, and meeting deadlines within budget constraints.Genuine passion for promoting safety awareness and creating a safe work environment for employees.Strong focus on achieving measurable results and driving continuous improvement in health and safety performance across all locations.Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google SuiteProficiency in safety management softwarePreferred Qualifications:Experience in a consumer goods industryMultilingual a plusWorking Conditions:Environment:

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. The successful candidate may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.
