UW employees offer their boundless energy, creative problem-solving skills and dedication to build stronger minds and a healthier world.The Drama Department is hiring up to three people in the Stage Technician 2 Temporary position.POSITION PURPOSEThe Stage Technician 2 (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) will perform a variety of technical stage production duties; assist staff.DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICSPositions in this class perform theater technical duties requiring knowledge and skill in carpentry, electricity, and sound. Work closely with other personnel, including students, to safely handle and install specialized theatrical equipment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES[75%] Reorganizing and disposing or storing all scenery, drapery, and stage equipment for rehearsal studios:Unpack and organize props in existing storage areas. Assist with the hanging, circuiting, and focusing of stage lighting equipment and sound system according to specs provided by supervisory staff.[15%] Assist in the assembly of audience risers and seating.[10%] Perform related duties as required.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSTwo years of experience as Stage Technician I or equivalent experience and education.Committed to attracting and retaining a diverse staff, the University of Washington will honor your experiences, perspectives and unique identity.
