Performs cooking classes and demonstrations within the organization and community outreach. Supervises training of cooks and other kitchen workers engaged in preparing and cooking foods in Physician dining room to assure quality, taste and presentation of items prepared. Establishes and enforces nutrition, sanitation and safety in accordance with the company and Department of Health and Hospitals. Manages the daily activities of the Executive Guest and Catering Assistant.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Contents are subject to change at the company's discretion.EducationRequired - Bachelor's degreePreferred - Additional degrees, business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.Work ExperienceRequired - 3 years related experience including 2 years of supervision or management experience.CertificationsRequired - Must meet state and local food handler requirements. Must possess food handler's permit. Must obtain ServSafe certification.Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Job DutiesObserves the culinary staff to ensure company standards are upheld during preparation of items sold in retail unit.Directs and assists in the preparation of food items in the Medical Center's Physician dining room.Plans and participates in planning menus and utilization of food surpluses and leftovers in Physician dining room.Performs cooking classes and demonstrations within the organization and community outreach.Assures compliance with all sanitation ServSafe and safety requirements.Directs and assists in all Executive catered events.Other related duties as required.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
