Data Scientist (Mid-Senior Level)

Location: Nashville, TN (Hybrid)

Direct Hire

Pay: up to $140K (depending on years of experience) plus bonus and stock

We are working with a forward-thinking organization dedicated to leveraging data to drive business excellence. They are looking to hire their first Data Scientist, who will work closely with the other data professionals within the organization. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a self-sufficient role and is passionate about transforming business cases into actionable insights.

Position Overview:

As a Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in analyzing complex data sets to solve business problems and provide strategic insights. You will be the first data scientist on the team and will have the opportunity to mentor junior team members as the department grows. Your role will involve developing predictive models, performing advanced analytics, and effectively communicating findings to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze business cases and develop data-driven solutions using advanced data science techniques.

Create and implement predictive models, including regression and other common algorithms.

Use Python and SQL to perform data analysis and build models.

Leverage Snowflake for data storage and retrieval.

Apply predictive analytics to derive actionable business insights.

Utilize Tableau or Power BI to visualize data findings and communicate results.

Engage with business units to gather requirements and explain complex data concepts in a clear and actionable manner.

Contribute to and potentially lead the development of machine learning models.

Use data tools such as Databricks and AWS, if applicable, to enhance data processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

5-6 years of experience in data science, with a strong background in working with data and analytics.

Expertise in Python programming and SQL.

Proficiency with Snowflake for data management.

Experience with predictive analytics and familiar with various prediction models such as regression and linear models.

Experience with Tableau or Power BI for data visualization.

Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data insights into understandable business terms.

Machine learning experience is a significant plus and offers opportunities for further growth within the company.

Knowledge of Databricks and AWS is advantageous.
