Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager. The position will be based at our Sumter, SC facility and does offer relocation assistance within US/PR.The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:

The primary function of the EHS Manager is to lead the Sumter Manufacturing site through improved Environmental, Health, and Safety performance. The role is the EHS functional leader for the site, providing subject matter expertise, leading environmental and regulatory compliance activities, process improvements, and driving safety cultural engagement across the Sumter facility.

The individual is part of the Sumter Plant Leadership Team and responsible for collaboration across the manufacturing plant to ensure compliance, risk reduction, and a safety focused culture. Key performance indicators include gemba walks, process checks, equipment and work cell risk levels, EHS audit scores, injuries, and safety engagement surveys.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Create and deploy a strategy to achieve the Sumter plant’s EHS and Sustainability goals. Establish and share ownership and accountability to achieve goals with the EHS and site Leadership Team.Facilitate evaluation and implementation of fiscally and socially responsible methods and processes of reducing operational environmental footprint by managing natural resources and waste.Build organization capability by providing EHS mentorship, training, and development of EHS team, MESH Champions and Sumter Extended Leadership Team to ensure compliance with MESH and Regulatory requirements.Support and participate on Continuous Improvement Activities such as: Rapid Improvement Events, Kaizens, Ideas Programs, Cost Out to incorporate EHS initiatives to drive improvements in results year over year.Continuously identify, assess, and reduce Environmental Health & Safety risks through the development and deployment of management systems for incident investigation, corrective/preventive action, management of change.Interface with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including maintenance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data.Comply with Eaton’s ethics policy and keep management informed of any issues associated with regulatory compliance, safety incidents and security concerns.Develop Environmental Health & Safety training plan and associated content. Ensure employee compliance with training requirements and maintenance of training documentation.Drive broad levels employee engagement in MESH activities to achieve a zero-incident safety culture through leadership, programs, communication, engagement, and employee committees.Initiate opportunities to improve environmental conditions in the community as well as foster employee wellness and off-the-job safety.Integrate and support Corporate Environmental Health & Safety initiatives designed to drive best practices across Eaton into the Sumter plant.Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.• Minimum of 5 years of EHS or manufacturing experience.• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.Preferred Qualifications:• Minimum 2 years of managing people in a manufacturing environment.• Master’s degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental from an accredited institution.• Environmental Health and Safety certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM.• Experience in developing and delivering training and regulatory compliance in environmental, health and safety environments.• Experienced dealing with local, state, and federal agencies in relation to EHS.• Experience driving/leading culture change in an EHS environment.Skills:

Good verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.Ability to motivate and drive problem solving techniques for root cause identification and development of permanent corrective actions.Written, verbal and computer business communication skills.Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office platform.Knowledge: Lean Tools, 6 Sigma and Technical Statistics.
