Qualitative Research Associate

to join our International Development Division. The position offers an opportunity to gain first-hand qualitative data management and research experience on exciting evaluations of development programs.Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations. The responsibilities for the position include:Support efforts to collect, compile, validate, interpret, and analyze qualitative data and trends using standard research practices and techniquesApply qualitative research techniques and methodsWork on moderately complex assignments under indirect supervisionCommunicate project support needs and requests to senior managementProvide administrative support to research projectsConduct literature reviews and write sections of project proposals and deliverablesResponsible for maintaining and checking the accuracy of data for assigned projectsUtilize external resources to supplement, organize, and contribute to tasks and projectsParticipate in business development activitiesCode and analyze qualitative data using NVivo qualitative analysis softwareDevelop interview and focus group protocolsConduct interviews and focus groupsTravel as neededQualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience or Master's degree in such fields as Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, History, Government, Public Policy or related fieldsFamiliarity with qualitative research methods and data analysisExperience working and/or doing research in other countriesExperience with NVivo or Atlas TI or other qualitative software packagesSkills:Excellent writing, and proficiency within a Microsoft Windows environmentFlexible, self-motivated, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and team playerWillingness to travel as neededAbility to work independently on detailed assignmentsProficient bilingual communicator with fluency in English and French or Portuguese with strong cross-cultural written and verbal communication skillsDisclosures:Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
