September 4, 2024Job Summary This Faculty member teaches upper-division Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Hospitality Management courses to students pursuing a Bachelor Degree. Courses may be taught in various modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery), and Blended Classes. Duties & Responsibilities
Teaches lecture and laboratory sectionsEvaluates and advises studentsDevelops curriculaMaintains department standardsRecruits and participates in retention of studentsServes on committeesPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements
Doctorate degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or Management preferredMaster's degree in Business Administration, Culinary Arts, Hospitality or Management and two (2) years of full-time industry work experience in Culinary Arts, Food Service or Hospitality; or Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Business Administration, Culinary Arts, Hospitality or Management; and two (2) years of full-time industry work experience in Culinary Arts, Food Service or Hospitality.All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institutionExperience with applied learning methodologiesAbility to communicate effectively with students with a wide range of skillsPossess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to work well with students and colleagues in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environmentMust be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekend assignmentsPreferences
