This posting is a pool for those interested in teaching DANC courses offered at HCC. These courses cover a variety of content in dance technique, styles, history, and introduction to dance. The department coordinator will review applicants for these positions when a need arises. The pool will be cleared annually in January, so please reapply if interested.Dance (DANC) is designed to teach:DANC-100, Introduction to DanceDANC-104-204, Hip Hop DanceDANC-113, Music Concepts for DanceDANC-114, History and Culture of Hip-HopDANC-125-128, Modern Dance, IntermediateDANC-150, Dance ImprovisationDANC-161-164, Beginning BalletDANC-164-168, Intermediate BalletDANC-171-174, Modern Dance, BeginningDANC-188, African DanceDANC-191, World DanceDANC-192-193, Jazz DanceDANC-194-195, Tap DanceDANC-201, Dance HistoryDANC-225-228, Modern Dance High, IntermediateDANC-250, Dance CompositionDANC-265-268, High Intermediate BalletAdjunct faculty may teach 1-3 courses each semester, depending on schedule and availability. At HCC, adjunct faculty are invited to participate in professional development (including Faculty and Professional Learning Community), and there may be opportunities to engage in certain faculty teams or special projects.Work Performed

For assigned course, prepare the course materials, prepare and update the learning management system course site (Canvas), attend required faculty/staff meetings, complete required trainings, meet with students as needed, grade/assess student work, deliver quality instruction, and meet other employment-related requirements from the division and the college.Additional Salary Information:

Adjunct Pay RatesMinimum Education Required

A master's degree or higher is required for most positions.Minimum Number of Years Experience Required

Prior teaching experience preferred.Other Knowledge Required

Experience teaching dance technique or dance history.Available to teach in a face-to-face and/or online classroom environment.Ability to learn to use a learning management system (Canvas) for course information, assignments, and grades.Working Conditions
