Chief Grain Inspector/Supervisor

Grain Inspector
Duties:- Perform grain inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.- Conduct visual inspections, measurements, and tests as required (spring wheat including 3-sub-classes experience a must).- Must communicate with the plant superintendent and assist on a daily basis.- Record inspection results accurately and timely.- Complete data entry tasks to document inspection findings.- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.- Identify and report any non-conforming products or materials.- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Inspector will inspect/grade incoming and outgoing grains shipped via railcar and truck. Inspector will also be responsible for inspecting and grading of submitted samples of grain by client. General knowledge of cleaning moisture and protein machines. Familiar with data entry, scanning and email.
Requirements:- Knowledge of grading wheat, corn and various other grains is required.- Broad knowledge of relevant USDA handbooks.- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate data collection.- Basic math skills for measurement and calculation purposes.- Excellent communication skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.- Reliable transportation.
