This position is responsible for incoming and outbound grain, maintaining grain conditions, and measuring grain inventory. Also, will be responsible for loading and unloading bulk and packaged fertilizer, chemical products, and measure agronomy inventory. The Grain Production Operator must maintain a safe & clean environment and maintain equipment & facilities. In this position, responsibilities include working indoors & outdoors throughout the entire calendar year.Operate and maintain grain elevator equipment, including conveyors, scales, and grain dryersEnsure incoming grain from semis or trains are delivered efficiently and correctlyLoad and unload trucks and railcars using heavy equipment such as loaders and forkliftsAssist members with loading and unloading corn/beans/wheatKeep accurate records of grain inventory and transactionsBin grain in anticipation of handling, blending, and loading outStore bushels properly, safely, and efficientlyVisually inspect stored grain and complete inspection reportsCheck bin temperature and aerates grain based on weather conditions and moistureBlend grains as directed to achieve maximum grade and limit discountsDry grain properly and safely and allow adequate room for wet bushelsGeneral maintenance of equipment, required to climb to the top of the grain storage bins (approx. 100 feet) using appropriate tools and procedures to maintain equipment, requires climbing on ladders to elevation.Monitor and maintenance equipment and report/correct equipment failures to supervisorObserve closely and comply with local, state, and federal guidelines & regulationsAttend safety training and safety meetingsReport unsafe conditions or behavior immediately to supervisorReport any problems immediately and ensure they are resolvedAssist with housekeeping maintenance by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized facilities throughout the assigned facilityAssist with weighting and grading inbound and outbound grain in the Scale HouseAssist with answer customer questionsSupport cross-divisional collaboration whenever possibleOther duties as assigned RequirementsSeasonal Grain Production Operator Required Skills & Qualifications:High School diploma or GEDAgriculture background preferredClean driving recordBasic computer and technology skillsGood written and verbal and communicationAbility to identify objectives and recommend the best solutionsPossess a strong set of core values and beliefsAccept responsibility while maintaining integrityRemain persistence and recover quickly from setbacksStrong organization and time management skillsExcellent customer servicePositive attitude and approach to problem solvingSignificant physical exertionClimb 30-foot bins, rail cars, and 100-foot grain legs (PPE provided by company)Must be able to lift at least 50 poundsWork in grain dustWork in outdoor conditionsSafety first mindsetFind your place in a positive, supportive atmosphere where opportunity is always growing, with a team that believes in its mission.
