The Grain Sales Internship at ALCIVIA is designed to provide you with education through real life experiences and to gain experience & knowledge in grain origination, merchandising, commodities procurement, and grain production. During this Internship, you will receive hands-on and real life work experiences within operations/production, in-office, and on-farm.

Grain Production : Assist members with loading and unloading corn/beans/wheat. Keep accurate records of grain inventory and transactions. Operate the Grain Scale which includes sample test and weigh grain on all inbound & outbound product loads, accurately grade grain, document the sample testing and issuing scale tickets through our computer system. Help Load and unload trucks and railcars. Shadow and help understand elevator operations.Grain Origination : Shadow and assist in the total process of collecting and selling grain (purchasing, selling, storage, logistics, etc.). This will involve doing ride-a-longs (going out with our Grain Marketing Specialists to work face-to-face with grain producers on farm) or shadowing team members within our office within the Grain business unit. You will get to shadow and work on cash markets, help understand regional markets, practice cold calling, and get farmgate experience.Merchandising : Work with our Merchandising Team to help understand different kinds of contract execution, hedging, origination, and learn domestic grain markets. Proactively strategize and execute procurement efforts to create a competitive advantage within the marketplace. Analyze market trends to anticipate product needs and plan accordingly.Supports a team-oriented environment by interacting in a professional, collaborative, and respectful manner with all employees, clients, customers and/or vendors.Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing expert advice on products and services.Ensure customer satisfaction by offering timely and effective solutions to meet their needs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on product offerings and sales techniques.Other duties as assigned.Requirements
