DETENTION OFFICER
STARTING WAGE INCREASED TO $24.40 per hour

As a Detention Officer for the Lake County Sheriff's Office, you will:
Supervise, secure, control, and care for inmates in the Detention Facility.
Comply with all established policies, rules, memos, and procedures.
Maintain discipline and order among inmates.
Prevent disturbances and escapes.
Provide impartial evaluation of inmates.
Cope with hostile and aggressive behaviors.
Maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations.
Seek cooperation from individuals with varied backgrounds.
To become P.O.S.T certified in the State of Montana, all applicants must:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Possess a high school diploma or GED Certificate.
Have the ability to attend the Montana Law Enforcement Academy and successfully pass the Detention Basic Course within one year of hire.
Pass C-PAT test, Mental Health test, and a Physical done by a Physician.
Pass a background check with a clear criminal history.
Have a valid Montana Driver License.
Successfully complete a 12 week F.T.O program.
Must possess the ability to understand and follow laws, policies, procedures, and orders; maintain effective working relationships; and utilize skills in control techniques to physically subdue an inmate.
Wage: $24.40/hour - This is a union-covered position
