The Department of Sociology and Anthropology seeks a non-tenure track assistant teaching professor or instructor to teach an array of upper and lower division courses during the academic year. The new faculty member will be expected to contribute to excellence in undergraduate teaching in the areas of sociology, criminology, or anthropology related to the applicant’s strength.Duties and Responsibilities:Teaching face-to-face and online coursesHolding office hours and communicating with studentsRequired Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills:Relevant degree and experience in Sociology, Anthropology, or related fieldsTeaching experience in a face-to-face lecture formatExperience teaching large sections of introductory classesPreferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills:PhD in Sociology, Anthropology, or related fieldsEvidence of teaching excellenceExperience teaching in both face-to-face and online formatsThe Successful Candidate Will:Be a dynamic instructor who has broad knowledge in sociology or anthropologyHave excellent written and oral communication skillsHave the ability to inspire and facilitate learning among a diverse student bodyHave the ability to work well with colleagues, students, and contribute to a collegial environmentHave experience teaching undergraduates in sociology or anthropologyPosition Special Requirements/Additional Information:The position for which you have applied MAY BE a Union position.
