The Worship Leader at Kairos Church (Christian and Missionary Alliance) is a member of the Kairos Church leadership team. He/she is called to vocational ministry within the context of the local church. This role is for a person who has already demonstrated the gift for leading others and himself/herself well. The Worship Leader is passionate about creating a culture of worship, developing experiences for people to worship God, and has the ability to create and foster a worship team and build leaders.
The primary role of the position is to lead in two main categories: (1) worship leadership and (2) developing a worship team spiritually and musically. He/she is responsible to create a worship culture at Kairos and lead the worship team in these areas to help them grow in their relationship with God and with others. The Worship Leader is amenable to the Lead Pastor (and if a licensed worker, also to the Metro District). The Lead Pastor will conduct an annual review of the Worship Leader’s performance based on the role description. The Worship Leader is a part-time position (10-12 hours per week).
Requirements
Holds a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
At least 3 years experience working within worship ministry
Strong demonstrated history of giftedness in leading worship and developing teams
Satisfactory background check upon application
Key Responsibilities
Create an environment for the heart of worship among the congregation by leading us in the Spirit toward experiential worship of God
Provide leadership and execute weekly Sunday morning worship gatherings including worship and tech setup and breakdown, online worship, and service order
Collaborate in all phases of weekend service and special event production, media, graphic, and technical aspects from concept development through production
Give creative direction to all worship services, collaborating with pastoral team, especially during Holy Week/Advent
Lead all special services, such as 21 Days of Prayer Healing Service, Good Friday and Longest Night
Lead and develop Serve Teams (Worship & Tech) through prayer, rehearsal, and team bonding
Create and manage budget for all worship expenses, purchasing all necessary equipment for worship, online worship and tech, and developing Serve Teams
Use Basecamp and Planning Center for communication and scheduling, and train Serve Team Members in each platform
