Worship Leader

Calvary Kearney in Kearney, Nebraska is seeking a worship leader who will help our church make Jesus non-ignorable in Kearney and to the ends of the earth. This leader will love making joyful passionate disciples of Jesus as they develop a volunteer team of musicians and vocalists. They will lead the doxology of the church to fit with the theology of the preaching and teaching through the use of both contemporary music and ancient hymns. Our church gathers weekly for one intergenerational service. This worship leader will help our congregation to sing together as one voice to the glory of God. The worship leader should have a gift for music and also for leadership, as confirmed by others.

Qualifications:

Must be willing to become a covenant member.

Must continue cultivating abilities as a musical worship leader.

Must be able to recruit volunteers to serve in worship ministry.

Must display Christ-like servant leadership and joyful, passionate pursuit of Jesus.

Responsibilities:

Curate a theologically-rich song catalog.

Lead worship through congregational singing during weekend services.

Recruit and develop volunteer musicians.

Assist elders in planning weekend services.

Time Commitment:

20-30 hours per week. Usually serves in the team member rotation 3-4 times a month.

Duration of Commitment:

Two Years
