OpenOverviewThe Department of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame, in conjunction with the Notre Dame Ethics Initiative, invites applications for two postdoctoral fellows working in ethics. The term of the fellowship will be two years: from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2027. The purpose of this program is to support the research of two leading early-career moral philosophers and to strengthen the scholarly community around ethics at Notre Dame.SalaryEach fellow will receive $80,000 per year plus full benefits from the University of Notre Dame. Research accounts and relocation expenses will be provided by the College of Arts and Letters. These fellowships are generously funded by the Notre Dame Ethics Initiative, the Institute for Ethics and the Common Good (ECG), and the Jenkins Center for Virtue Ethics.DutiesThe selected fellows will hold primary appointments in the Philosophy Department and will be affiliated with the Institute for Ethics and the Common Good (ECG), as well as the Jenkins Center for Virtue Ethics (if appropriate). Office space will be provided within the Philosophy Department. Each fellow will teach a 1:1 teaching load annually for the Department of Philosophy. The fellows will have opportunities to present their research to faculty of the Philosophy Department and the ECG. Fellows will be welcome to participate in any activities taking place within the Department of Philosophy and the ECG.QualificationsFor full consideration, candidates must have received their PhD between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2025.
