The Department of Film, Television, and Theatre (FTT) at the University of Notre Dame is seeking a candidate for an appointment as a tenure-track

assistant professor of digital media studies

with a starting date of August 2025. We particularly welcome scholars whose work aligns with one or more of the university's interdisciplinary units such as the Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies, the Institute for Latino Studies, Africana Studies, and/or Gender Studies. Responsibilities include undergraduate teaching (2 courses per semester) in the candidate's area of expertise as well as core courses in the film and/or television concentration.The Department of Film, Television, and Theatre (FTT) is a large, dynamic department that provides a liberal arts approach to the study of film, television, and theatre with a unique mix of course offerings in production, design, writing, performance, history, and theory. FTT offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts major and a graduate minor in Screen Cultures. FTT is committed to anti-racism and social justice in its curriculum, performances, research, student work, and hiring practices.Qualifications:Candidates should have a PhD or ABD in a relevant discipline.Candidates must have demonstrable potential for successful college-level teaching in a liberal arts environment.Candidates should have proficiency in film and/or television studies and expertise in one or more of the following: streaming platforms and infrastructure; social media; podcasts; video games; virtual reality; AI; media archaeology; visual culture theory; policy, ethics, and political economy of media.To apply, visit
