The Safety and Training Supervisor, under the direction of the Sr Safety & Training Supervisor, will be responsible for the proper training of designated employees according to county and company policies and programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Coordinate all safety education programs for the property.
Conduct and coordinate all driver training activities including initial training and retraining, utilization and supervision of Driver Trainers and the Driver Training Program.
Assist with Classroom training and Behind the Wheel Training in the absence of designated trainers.
Assist the Safety and Training Manager in reporting incidents and subrogating collisions.
Respond to and investigate accidents/incidents to include taking photos of accident/incident scene, interviewing involved parties, and assisting with police reports.
Coordinate Safety Meetings and oversee Drive Program.
Coordinate and ensure compliance with the substance abuse testing program using Federal and Company standards.
Maintain personnel and qualification files pertaining to new hire, training, safety and loss matters.
Interview potential drivers and give recommendation as to whether to hire that person.
Coordinate employee return to work with Human Resource Department.
Coordinate and assist in DriveCam Coaching and training.
Other duties as assigned.
Follow ETP/DMV testing agenda.
Assist with revenue schedules.
Assist with drive-cam.
Assist with time sheets.
Assist with Compliance (CHP, DMV).
Maintain visible access to all running data via shared folder where everyone has access to see it.
Accident Calendars.
Discipline trackers.
If any assignment will create a delay on other assignments, communicate the issues as soon as possible.
Prioritize and communicate ongoing tasks.
Establish and maintain disciplinary process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred:
High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Must have Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger endorsement.
Must be able to obtain and maintain DOT Physical examination.
Experience:
Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to one (1) year of Fixed Route Transit specific service in the transportation industry, preferably with training experience.
Driver training experience preferred.
Must have a good Customer Service record - Internal.
Must have less than 2 UAs - Internal.
Must have an excellent safety record - Internal.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
Ability to manage time and work with minimum supervision.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate well via the written word or verbally.
Ability to maintain a flexible attitude and approach to assignments.
Must be able to read a map and possess knowledge of the service area.
Must be able to work flexible hours. You may be called in to work after hours, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to operate the company vehicle without the use of DOT prohibited adaptations.
Proven interpersonal skills dealing with the public required.
Must be able to conceptualize process flow in establishing policies and procedures.
Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, providers and make public presentations.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
You must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check.
Physical Requirements:
70% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities.
30% of work is accomplished outside or in a vehicle.
Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of passengers and materials.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibrations.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Must be able to operate the company vehicle without the use of DOT prohibited adaptations.
