The ELJ Program provides learning opportunities using an integrated model for P-12, Community College, University, and Non-Profit learners.The PositionThe temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach Doctoral level courses.ResponsibilitiesTeaching courses in the Educational Leadership for Justice (ELJ) Program;Collaborating and working closely with ELJ full-time and part-time faculty;Supporting students in writing and research responsibilities;Contributing to student success by providing consistent and effective support and guidance through teaching, modeling, and mentoring;Serving weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.QualificationsRequired QualificationsMust hold a Ph.D or Ed.D in Educational Leadership or a closely related discipline.Prior P-12, community college or university-level teaching experience and/or relevant industry experience.Current knowledge and experience with policies and initiatives affecting education, including K-12, community college, and higher education.Demonstrated ability to effectively work with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches and methods.Committed to ongoing professional development to maintain currency in the field, including effective use of technology.Candidates must demonstrate an awareness and have experience working with and understanding the needs of an adult learner population who are working professionals of great diversity – in age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language, and academic preparation.Experience in teaching and working with colleagues from diverse ages, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.Preferred QualificationsPrior university-level teaching experience and relevant industry experience.Committed to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive education.Demonstrated experience using anti-racist teaching and social justice pedagogies.Active in professional organizations.Knowledge of the Ed.D. program.Experience in Educational Leadership.Employment RequirementSatisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.Application MaterialsCurrent Curriculum Vitae or Resume with contact informationA one-page Cover Letter including a Diversity Statement and Teaching StatementList of 3 references with contact informationUnofficial transcripts (an official transcript will be required upon initial appointment)Closing StatementCalifornia State University, Dominguez Hills, is strongly committed to achieving excellence through a diverse workforce.
