San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department
is recruiting for
Sheriff's Records Clerks
who perform a variety of clerical assignments and support functions related to maintaining law enforcement records and handling public inquiries of a sensitive nature. Records Clerks must acquire specialized knowledge, certification, and training to operate a variety of systems and perform complex data entry including the use of various telecommunications systems (CLETS) and warrant entries. Essential duties include processing money, receipts, fingerprints, and photographs; assisting deputies, attorneys, and other law enforcement agencies; ensuring the accuracy and appropriate dissemination of information to requesting agencies or individuals; and verifying or requesting information from other agencies.Positions are located in the San Bernardino Sheriff's Records office.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTBackground:
Prior to appointment, applicants will be fingerprinted and must pass an extensive background investigation, including a polygraph examination. Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony.Shift:
Applicants must be available for
all
shifts; incumbents will be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, evenings, and may be required to assist after normal duty hours in emergency situations. Therefore, refusal of an assigned shift, location, or relocation may result in removal from the list or termination. Shift differentials and overtime compensation are available.Sponsorship:

of the following options:Option A:
One (1) year (full-time equivalent) of office clerical experience, with duties that include public contact, computer usage, phones, and filing.Option B:
Two (2) years as a Sheriff's Explorer. (Be sure to include experience in work history.)-- AND --Availability:
Applicants must be available for all shifts.-- AND --Keyboarding/Typing speed:
35 wpm minimum corrected typing speed.NOTE: All experience must be listed in the work experience section of the application and duties clearly described. Applications will be reviewed "as is" and you will not have an opportunity to change or provide additional information. Resumes are
