General Job Description:

The FSQA Manager is responsible for leading the quality and regulatory programs as well as the food safety teams withing company. This position oversees document creation, document control and maintaining the most current versions of all documents used within the facility. This position is responsible for maintaining all aspects of quality and food safety company wide. This position is also responsible for writing programs and documents, as well as assuring that these programs are followed. All members of the quality team report directly to the FSQA Manager.

Responsibilities and duties:

· Lead the quality and food safety team to enhance company-wide Food Safety Programs, contributing to the improvement of food safety and quality policies and programs.

· Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement in all Food Safety, Quality Assurance (FSQA) programs, and related activities.

· Collaborate with the Director of FSQA in managing food safety incidents, including issues such as foodborne illness, product adulteration/contamination, or recall activities.

· Stay abreast of all changes in state and federal regulations affecting processes and implementations.

· Collaborate with heads of production, engineering, and procurement departments to address issues related to food safety and quality.

· Handle customer complaints from members, suppliers, and supply chain entities.

· Conduct training sessions for sanitation and production teams to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

· Implement Non-Conformance, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective Action procedures.

· Ensure compliance with HACCP, FSMA (FDA), SSOP standards, and oversee plan writing and implementation.

· Manage third-party testing, including Environmental, Finished Product Testing, and Shelf-Life Studies.

· Oversee gluten testing and submit results to the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO).

· Establish compliance and specification management for new product development and current processes.

· Review product specifications regularly to ensure supplier compliance with regulatory and company requirements.

· Oversee the implementation and management of food safety documentation, including SQF (Safe Quality Food Institute) and BRCGS (Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards) policies and procedures.

· Lead and represent the company during regulatory audits by FDA and 3rd party BRCGS and SQF audits.

· Provide support to the Purchasing Department in the Supplier Approval process.

· Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Skills and Experiences:

· Bachelor's degree or 7+ years of applicable experience (Food Science, Food Manufacturing).

· HACCP Certified.

· Experience with development and implementation of BRC, SQF and/or similar audit

· Effective communications skills - written and verbal.

· Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, and FSQA issues.

· Experience with third-party, Federal, and State auditors.

· Ability to train teams for Food Safety Programs (FSMA, HACCP, etc.).

· Exceptional problem-solving skills.

· The ability to execute quick, high-judgment decisions and ability to direct teams to work through difficult situations.

· A willingness to learn and embrace uncertainty and have a flexible schedule.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $84,000.00 per year
