Professional and supervisory work in directing the administrative functions of all grant activities in the Office of Criminal Justice Coordination. Duties include providing administrative oversight on grant programs including grant research, grant writing, grant program design and implementation, compliance and grant reporting. Duties may include budget management, personnel administration, and liaison duties with other agencies; and related work as required.EITHER:A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, permanent status with the City of New Orleans as a Management Development Specialist II or higher and two (2) years of experience in that classification performing grant management work.A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, and two (2) years of professional exempt experience in grants management. At least one year of this experience must have been supervisory.A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, and four (4) years of professional exempt experience in grants management. At least one year of this experience must have been supervisory.* Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.NOTE:

The Civil Service Department defines professional experience as experience gained in a position that required a Bachelor's Degree upon entrance.NOTE:

Experience with Criminal Justice grant management inclusive of grant writing and experience collaborating with Municipal & State Courts relative to criminal justice advocacy is preferred but not required.A qualifying written examination and a rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for related experience gained within the last ten (10) years. Employees in the Management Specialist Series are exempt from the written examination.The examination is a written test designated to measure: Basic Management Principles, Decision-Making and Organizing, Interpersonal Skills, Written Communication, and Mathematics.This is an original entrance and promotional examination.This position requires a one year probationary period.APPLICATIONS:
