The Role:

The Genome Editing group is looking for a senior associate scientist with expertise in iPSC biology to help expand our therapeutic capabilities and continue to improve our technology discovery platform. The successful candidate will have a strong background in iPSC culture, experience with genome editing, and expertise engineering cellular models. Here's What You'll Do:

Assist standardizing protocols for the differentiation of iPSCs into specific cell types.

Optimize methods for introducing Life Edit genome editing systems into pluripotent cells and their progeny.

Establish rigorous standards and quality control measures for iPSC culture and differentiation.

Work closely with cross-functional teams and coordinate with team members to align project objectives with experimental approaches and timelines.

Analyze and interpret data ensuring clear documentation of methodologies and outcomes.

Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal and external partners to communicate progress in line with project schedules.

Assist in mentoring and training research associates and coordinating the day-to-day operations.

Follow advancements in the field of gene editing and gene therapy published in the literature and presented at conferences.

Requirements:

Master's degree or a bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience in Biochemistry, Cell biology, Molecular biology, Neuroscience, or a related field.

Expertise in culturing and characterizing pluripotent cells.

Expertise in differentiating pluripotent cells into different cell types.

Ability to design, plan, and implement pluripotent cell differentiation techniques.

Expertise in molecular and biochemical techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, qRT-PCR, NGS, WB, IF, ELISA, and Flow Cytometry.

Direct experience in genome editing mammalian cells is highly preferred.

Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).

Passion and ability to learn new concepts and skills.

Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

Occasional weekend work is required.
