Summary of Responsibilities:

Ready to lead a critical environmental operation and make a real impact? As the Landfill Manager at Durr, you'll develop and execute an operational plan for the landfill, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and equipment maintenance standards.

The Take Charge Landfill Manager:

Assures Landfill Operations:

Permit Compliance:

Ensure landfill operations comply with all permit conditions.

Staff Management:

Manage staffing levels, safety issues/claims, and the hiring, training, and performance management of landfill employees.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the President, Regional Engineer, and Environmental Manager to develop fill sequencing plans and achieve density goals.

Equipment Maintenance:

Collaborate with the Equipment Manager and CFO to ensure landfill equipment is properly maintained and acquire new equipment as needed.

Operational Procedures:

Plan and implement procedures for receiving and disposing of waste, completing construction projects, and yard maintenance.

Data Review:

Review soil reports and provide data to the President.

Adheres to Compliance Regulations:

Refuse Handling:

Oversee the proper handling of received refuse.

Testing and Monitoring:

Supervise and monitor all required testing, sample monitoring wells, and utilization of cover material.

Incident Response:

Respond to and investigate accidents and injuries.

Site Audits:

Review and/or conduct site audits.

Achieves Financial Targets:

Monitor and control outside contractors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education and/or Experience:

Education:

High School Diploma required; some college preferred.

Experience:

4 years of experience in landfill construction and waste disposal, with expertise in construction design and plan execution.

2 years of supervisory or management experience.

Experience operating Heavy Equipment such as Compactors and Track-Type Tractors

Previous experience on construction sites, requiring health and safety awareness.

Minimum 4 years of Solid Waste Management Certification.

Regularly required to talk and hear, frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard.

Lifting:

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Vision:
