Associate Research ScientistAbout the OpportunitySUMMARYResearch in the Liao laboratory combines single-molecule imaging, genetic manipulation, whole-cell super-resolution microscopy, machine learning, and physical modeling to understand how neuron structures and functions emerge from the elementary molecular processes, under both normal development and pathological stresses.The Associate Research Scientist will conduct leading-edge research in understanding the elusive connection between microtubule organization/dynamics and neurological diseases. They will also investigate the processes that control the interaction between microtubules and actin in the context of neuronal development.RESPONSIBILITIESPerform researchWrite for publicationsDraft new grantsSupervise graduate studentsSome purchasing and budget administrationQUALIFICATIONSPhD in Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Biophysics, or a related field required with at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience with cytoskeleton and quantitative imaging analysis. Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and ability to share and celebrate success with other lab members are essential for success.
