Title: Formulation ScientistLocation: Lancaster, SCSalary: $80k - $95k, with potential bonus up to 12% of YTD earnings (discretionary)Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 5pm (flexibility for off-shifts required)Benefits: Medical insurance/ Vision insurance/ Dental insurance/ Tuition assistance/ Disability insurance/ Childcare support/ 401(k)/ relocation assistancePosition Summary:The Formulation Scientist will support product development, reformulation, and process improvement projects from ideation to commercialization. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Operations, this role involves collaboration with operations, quality, and business teams, and contributes to new product development and quality improvement initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Lead and support formula development and process improvements for various dosage forms, including powders, tablets, capsules, soft chews, and liquids.Collaborate with product development teams on pilot and scale-up batches, ensuring data collection for process parameters and product specifications.Conduct bench trials, physical evaluations, and data collection for alternative materials approval.Supervise product development technicians and provide training on new processes.Assist in developing formulations for new raw materials and study new equipment to enhance manufacturing processes.Prepare and approve Master Batch Records and Change Control Requests.Adhere to cGMP processes and compile stability data summaries.Provide technical support to manufacturing and operations, and monitor initial production batches.Engage in ongoing education through industry expos and conferences.Communicate effectively within the team and other departments.Minimum Requirements:Experience with soft chew or similar dosage forms.Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Basic problem-solving and data analysis abilities.Education and Experience:BS/BA in chemistry, food science, life sciences, engineering, or related field.Over 5 years of hands-on experience in product development, including food, dietary supplements, or related products.Experience in a cGMP environment with a solid understanding of cGMP principles.Experience in cross-functional teams; knowledge of animal feed regulations is a plus.
