Associate Marketing ScientistMarketing Science is an applied science team within The Walt Disney Studios Marketing organization. The team is interdisciplinary and cross-functional. Members of the team draw on knowledge and expertise from a wide range of academic disciplines, primarily in areas related to applied mathematics and social sciences, to advance data-driven marketing at The Walt Disney Studios. Depending on their backgrounds and interests, they may engage in market research, experimentation, forecasting, causal measurement, optimization, or data-related automation and product development. Marketing Science is closely integrated with Performance Marketing operations to find opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness.Job Responsibilities:Members of the Marketing Science team generally fall within one or more functional areas as described in the Analytics Specializations section below. An Associate Marketing (Data) Scientist is an individual contributor developing expertise in one or more functional areas and is expected to help complete tasks within those areas with supervision. They are also expected to develop knowledge in media, marketing, and entertainment.Analytics Specializations:Research and Consumer Insights Specialization:Overseeing or carrying out all aspects of quality market research, including proper sampling, assigning sample weights, participating in survey design, and validating survey programming.Designing innovative research studies that uncover consumer trends and behaviors.Using advanced analytic techniques to understand consumer decision-making.Synthesizing insights into compelling narratives for stakeholders.Coordinating work with other research teams at The Walt Disney Company.Marketing Measurement and Valuation Specialization:Troubleshooting media measurement solutions.Consulting with stakeholders to design processes that achieve better results on media platforms.Using knowledge of media measurement to design solutions for media business problems.Overseeing design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests.Building financial valuation models of marketing performance.Statistics, Data Science, and Optimization Specialization:Using statistics and machine learning to solve technical and research problems.Developing and interpreting new formal models to forecast business outcomes.Coordinating with other science and technology teams.Analytics Engineering and Technology Specialization:Architecting and building data products using foundational data sets.Consulting with stakeholders on data strategy.Documenting usage of data products for other teams.Basic Education:BS or MS in advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a comparable field.Demonstrated academic achievement in statistics and probability.Further academic achievement in relevant areas related to specialization.Basic Qualifications:Desire to learn about media and marketing.Strong technical skills and business acumen.Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Experience with organizing and analyzing large volumes of data.Experience with Python and familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools.Preferred Education:Graduate degree with significant exposure to formal or quantitative methods.Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency with Python and experience with big data technologies.

The hiring range for this position in CA is $93,400.00 to $125,200.00 per year. The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s geographic region, knowledge, skills, and experience.
