IT Support Technician

Position: IT Support TechnicianDepartment: AdministrationReports To: Co-DirectorLocation(s): Montebello, CA; Long Beach, CA; Los Angeles, CAStatus: Non-exempt, Part Time (On-site)Salary: $22 - $26 per hour DOEPrimary Responsibilities Include:Supports staff in use of organization’s technology systemsResponds to helpdesk questions and resolves problemsCreates documentation for usersAssists users with software and hardware issues, including troubleshooting, installation, and uninstallationDistributes devices to users, maintains device check-out history, and tracks device inventoryCoordinates with contractors to resolve network, server, and other larger issuesPerforms site visits as needed to address IT issues and setup hardwareReduces cyber-risk and improves user computer skills by teaching basic skills as neededMonitors device health and usage through remote access and mobile device management (MDM) softwareCreates user profiles for various services, including VoIP and AdobeOther IT duties as assignedSkills & Qualifications:Patience and understanding for the population we serve and our other tech-challenged usersWillingness to explore issues, discover the root cause, and provide short and long-term solutionsAbility to translate IT jargon to layman’s terms and vice versaAble to maintain composure and customer focus while troubleshooting and resolving issuesDesire to learn how the department and organization functions and aid in its growthAt least two years of experience in a similar role or fieldCandidate must live in the Los Angeles region, have reliable transportation, and current vehicle insurance for occasional travel between our various sites.Formerly incarcerated individuals or those impacted by the criminal justice or child welfare systems are encouraged to apply by sending a cover letter and resume to: careers@anewwayoflife.org.
