The University sits on nearly 1,450-acres in the scenic Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, and offers a rich cultural environment in a bucolic setting close to major urban centers.Job DescriptionThe Department of Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track faculty member to develop or continue a vigorous research program in Materials Chemistry; applications are particularly encouraged in the area of Inorganic Materials Chemistry.RequirementsWe are seeking talented applicants qualified for Assistant Professor positions. A Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Chemistry or a related field with relevant post-doctoral experience is required. Women and applicants from other groups underrepresented in Chemistry are particularly encouraged to apply.The successful candidate will join a vibrant, collaborative and interdisciplinary materials science and engineering community at UMass Amherst and will also be a member of the recently initiated interdisciplinary materials science and engineering graduate program (MSE IDGP), which brings together over 60 faculty members from the College of Natural Sciences and College of Engineering.Application InstructionsAlong with the application, please submit a cover letter, curriculum vita, statements of research and teaching, a Contributions to Inclusive Excellence Statement, and contact information for three (3) professional references.
