Statistician

you will be working in

Pediatrics.PurposeDevelop or apply mathematical or statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, analyze, interpret, and summarize mental and behavioral health numerical data to provide usable information. May specialize in fields such as quantitative statistics, data science, computer science and/or predictive analytics. Experience with the use of artificial intelligence strategies to support predictive analytics and/or data generation is highly desirable. This position will support the Children's Wisconsin Mental and Behavioral Health Research Program and be part of a growing data science and analytics team supporting its efforts.Primary FunctionsIdentify relationships and trends in data, as well as any factors that could affect the results of research.Report results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables.Analyze and interpret statistical data to identify significant relationships and/or differences among sources of information.Adapt statistical methods to solve specific problems in areas important to mental and behavioral health decision making, such as outcomes, economics, trends across time, implementation, and research specific hypotheses.Develop software applications or programming to use for statistical modeling and graphic analysis.Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods.Plan data collection methods for specific projects and determine the types and sizes of sample groups to be used.Integrate and manage large datasets.Present statistical and non-statistical results using charts, bullets, and graphs in meetings or conferences to audiences such as executive leadership, peers, donors, and students.Evaluate the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy.Design research projects that apply valid scientific techniques and use information obtained from baselines or historical data to structure uncompromised and efficient analyses.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge - Skills - AbilitiesKnowledge of quantitative statistics, data science, computer science and/or predictive analytics, documentation, and records management.Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.Preferred Schedule:Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours or as needed to accommodate business needs.Position Requirements:SpecificationsAppropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basisMinimum Required Education: Master's DegreeMinimum Required Experience: 1 yearPreferred Experience: Experience with applying artificial intelligence approaches (e.g., machine learning) to large datasets.Field: Quantitative statistics, data science, computer science and/or predictive analyticsWhy MCW?Outstanding Healthcare Coverage, including but not limited to Health, Vision, and Dental.
