The Department of Psychiatry at Morehouse School of Medicine is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor level Psychiatrist with a strong interest in community psychiatry. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with a culturally diverse patient population and with treatment teams within a multidisciplinary, multi-specialty environment. Engage in teaching, scholarly, and clinical service in the field of psychiatry and behavioral sciences. Participate in the teaching programs of the Department. Engage in patient care activities consistent with the department’s needs and the faculty member’s interests. Assume some administrative duties such as serving on institutional committees and assisting with the Psychiatry Residency Program and/or the Psychiatry Clerkships.Specific Position Details:

Serve as an attending for Grady Behavioral Health Outpatient Services, along with other MSM faculty. The clinical sites will include residents, and medical, nursing, and PA students. Outpatient services include traditional scheduled outpatient appointments as well as services in a primary care setting as part of Behavioral Health Integration in Primary Care utilizing telepsychiatry. In addition to patient care, the attending will be responsible for teaching, supervision, and evaluation of trainees.Serve on department, institutional, and community-based committeesMay serve as a Co-course Director for undergraduate medical education coursesProvide resident and medical student supervisionMay undertake clinical responsibilities at other affiliated sites as assignedAssist with resident recruitment, including interviewing candidatesMay collaborate on department research projectsParticipate in faculty development programs to develop teaching and/or research skills* The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
