FOOD SERVICE SUPERVISOR 2 - HOSPITAL.WORK SCHEDULE:100% FTE, Days, EveningsAM shift (5:30-2) Friday, SaturdayEvening Shift (1-9:30) Sun - TuesdayPOSITION HIGHLIGHTS:Supervises food service employees, porters, cooks and diet aides in the preparation, production, service, cash sales from patient family guest tray and maintenance activitiesDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:The Patient Nutrition department supports UWMC's mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care, unforgettable customer service, and fresh and nutritious food for patients, families, and the greater community.Our vision is to create a supportive and empowering work place for all, provide unparalleled experiences for our customers and patients, and improve the quality of life and health of the public.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure sanitation and food safety standards in work areaInterviews and recommends selection of applicants, trains new employees, assigns and schedule work, acts upon leave requests, conducts annual performance evaluations, annual compliance, in-services and recommends disciplinary actionContributes to team process, maintains cooperative work environment and works to improve quality of food, presentation and services provided to patientsEnsures all equipment is turned on and are not stacked too highMakes employee replacements as needed and supervises room service meal preparationEnsures food safety, quality and temperatures, take action as neededHuddles with staff daily and reviews daily and weekly special menus and updates any changesOrders China, Dinex products, silverwares, and other kitchen supplies and equipment as neededREQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment.Associate Degree in food service management, nutritional care or related field

ORHigh School Diploma, or GED Certificate, with four years of experience in an industrial, commercial or institutional food service or patient tray service including one year as a lead, supervisor, or equivalent.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-MONTLAKE:UW Medical Center is an acute care academic medical center located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
