As our clients see the benefits of their investment, we put down roots for the future.Your MissionUnder guidance from the Scientist Director and/or the Director of Natural Resources, cooperate with other scientists, engineers and project management staff to secure permitting for ecological restoration projects, conduct natural resource delineations, and assess or monitor project sites.Outcomes You Will Deliver:Lead natural resource investigations, field surveys, and site monitoringMentor other staff members on project tasksPrepare reports on field investigations and yearly monitoring reportsLead stream/wetland restoration permit submittals and requests with various agenciesCollaborate with Construction and Project Management teams to ensure compliance with planting and design criteriaContribute to projects including scientific reports, cost estimates, and invoicesCollaborate with clients and local communitiesWho You Are:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field; relevant work experience may be substituted for a degreeTen years of direct experience in natural resource permitting, stream and wetland monitoring, or forestryEnvironmental consulting and/or environmental compliance experience: Forest Conservation Plans, Wetland Delineations/Wetland Impact Plates, Planting Plans, and similar environmental documentsSubstantial understanding of Maryland’s county, state and local environmental permitting processMid-Atlantic Region Plant ID knowledge and the ability to create ecologically functional plant palletsExperience with Stream (Banks) Protocol and Shoreline TMDL crediting a plusCertification related to the profession is preferred (Professional Wetland Scientist, Qualified Professional, Certified Arborist, MBSS certifications)Proficiency with GPS mobile units and ArcGIS preferredAbility to do occasional long field days in various weather conditionsOur Core Values:Our culture is based on a shared respect for our core value.
