Our community-based medical school, Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM), est. 1973, is affiliated with six major teaching hospitals, two federal institutions, and over 30 other healthcare institutions. BSOM learners get focused training with a community-based, diverse set of patients, practices, and facilities. BSOM has 13 accredited residency programs and 10 accredited fellowships, with opportunities for growth. BSOM helps educate over 212 graduate students, 510 medical students, 488 residents & fellows each year.OB/Gyn Department at BSOM

As a member of the OB/Gyn Department, a new faculty member will have opportunities to work alongside colleagues who are deeply engaged in local, regional and national initiatives to address issues of access to medicine and healthcare. The Department’s research labs received significant external grant funding to help support their research endeavors in this and other areas. The Department also serves as a regional leader in Quality Improvement initiatives in a variety of inpatient and outpatient clinical care areas. The Department has robust collaborations in basic science research as well, particularly around hypertensive diseases in pregnancy. Additionally, we have a cadaveric surgical training facility for our OB/GYN residents and students in which innovative didactics occur throughout the year.Minimum Qualifications

Prior to the effective date of appointment*, successful candidates must have:MD, DO, or MBBS degree;Completed 4-Year Ob/Gyn Residency;Ob/Gyn Board Certification (or Board-Eligible^);Unrestricted Ohio Medical License;Federally-issued DEA License.Successful candidates will receive offers contingent upon satisfying these requirements prior to their start date.Instructor candidates must meet all requirements above by their start date, as Board Eligible.Assistant Professor candidates must meet all requirements above by their start date, as Board Certified.Associate Professor candidates must meet all requirements above and additional time of service and publication requirements by their start date, as outlined and governed by WSU BSOM Faculty Affairs policies:

60% WSU BSOM Academic FacultyParticipation in education and supervision of medical students and residents in various settings, including inpatient work, Labor & Delivery, OR, and outpatient clinic sites.Classroom didactics, with opportunities for curriculum development and course direction as assigned by department academic leadership.Participation in learner evaluations and mentorship.Participation in committees, meetings, outreach, assigned teaching, and other academic and research assignments from the Department Chair or BSOM Dean’s Office.30% Direct Patient Care & LeadershipCommunity-focused clinical care and medical leadership to the Greater Dayton area.Generate and maintain community partner learner sites.Working Conditions
