Overview:

Storagenergy is seeking a seasoned Senior/Principal Battery Scientist to lead our efforts in developing next-generation high-energy lithium-metal and anode-free batteries. This role involves advancing electrolyte additives, coatings, and strategies to prevent Li-dendrite growth, enhance safety, and improve cycle life. You will work closely with and report directly to the CTO, making key contributions to our battery technology advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Development: Create and refine strategies to enable high-energy lithium-metal and anode-free batteries, focusing on performance improvements and safety.

Project Leadership: Act as Project Manager/Principal Investigator, providing guidance to junior Research Engineers and Scientists.

Documentation & Communication: Effectively document and communicate project progress and technical challenges through technical reports and presentations to diverse teams.

Customer Engagement: Lead activities to engage with customers, understanding their requirements for next-generation batteries.

Grant Writing: Contribute to and lead grant writing efforts to secure ongoing project funding.

Qualifications :

Education: Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: 10+ years in a U.S. national laboratory or commercial/industrial battery R&D environment, with a strong background in lithium-ion and lithium-metal battery technologies.

Expertise: Deep understanding of battery materials, production methods, and performance, with preferred experience in high-energy batteries.

Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical mindset, and experience designing experiments to drive decisions.

Environment: Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

Motivation: Highly motivated and results-driven, with a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Additional Assets: Experience with project management and grant applications is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $140,000.00 per year
