Overview:

Storagenergy invites applications for a dynamic and entrepreneurial Senior/Principal Battery Scientist to spearhead the development and validation of advanced sodium-ion battery technologies. This role, backed by the Department of Energy, offers a unique opportunity to lead groundbreaking projects in a fast-paced startup environment. You will be instrumental in formulating and specifying new materials, selecting additives, performing root cause failure analysis, and driving cost reduction efforts to meet market and customer targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Material Development:

Lead the synthesis and production of high-performance electrode materials for sodium-ion batteries, focusing on cost-effectiveness and energy density.

Battery Design:

Oversee the design, fabrication, and manufacturing of sodium-ion batteries to achieve exceptional performance and long cycle life.

Electrolyte Formulation:

Innovate and develop advanced electrolytes to enhance battery safety and performance, including overcharge and abuse resistance.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists, and laboratory technicians to ensure project milestones are met on schedule.

Strategic Leadership:

Provide strategic input and leadership to guide the direction of technology development and integration into new products.

Qualifications:

Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, or a related field.

Experience: At least 5 years in the battery industry, with a deep understanding of sodium-ion battery materials, production methods, and performance.

Skills: Self-motivated, innovative, with strong problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

Additional Assets: Experience with cathode material synthesis, recycling methods, project management, and grant applications is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
