Under general direction, supervises, assigns, reviews and participates in the work of a unit responsible for providing casework, client management, continuing client investigation, assessment, evaluation, service planning, delivery and monitoring for the Department of Disability and Aging Services (DAS) Adult Protective Services Program (APS) at the Human Services Agency (HSA).Incumbents perform a variety of technical tasks relative to their assigned area of responsibility. The 2944 Protective Services Supervisor supervises professional, technical and/or clerical employees depending on specific unit assignment.Essential Duties and FunctionsPlan, triage and prioritize, case assign, supervise and review case closures, and the work of a unit involved in providing case management activities as defined in State regulations.Participate in the selection of unit staff; coordinate and provide training of staff; manage, coach, develop, evaluate staff and implement corrective measures.Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives for the unit.Monitor emergency tangible and non-tangible funds expenditures.Review and evaluate APS Worker case management practices through case reviews, coaching, and fieldwork shadowing.Evaluate operations and activities of assigned responsibilities; recommend improvements and modifications; prepare various reports on operations and activities.Participate in community and professional groups and committees; collaborate with other DAS programs and other City departments.Use a keyboard to write reports and create correspondence; gather statistical data and prepare reports as required.Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide consultation and short-term interventions for older adults and adults with disabilities.Participate in the State-mandated APS After-Hours program.Qualifications

Education:A Master’s Degree in Social Work from a college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE);

ORA Master’s degree from a two-year counseling program from an accredited school or university. Qualifying counseling degrees include Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Addiction Counseling, and Counseling Psychology;

ANDExperience:Two (2) years of experience as a social service case manager in the field of adult protective services.License and Certification:Some positions require possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.Special Requirements:The essential duties of this position require incumbents to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a limited basis; drive within the City of San Francisco and occasionally outside City/County limits.Applicants must meet the minimum qualification requirement by the final filing date unless otherwise stated.Verification of Experience and/or Education:Applicants may be required to submit verification of qualifying education and experience at any point during the recruitment and selection process.Selection Procedures:Supplemental Questionnaire Examination:
