Under direction of the Principal Investigator, perform independent research utilizing Electron microscopy of 12 mouse brains.Key Responsibilities:

As directed, performs research in the lab to study mouse brains.Selection of the caudal corpus callosum from demyelinated brains for evaluation and staining.Sectioning with a vibratome and embedding tissue selections.Taking photographs for statistical evaluation.Keep detailed records of procedures and experiments.Handle additional related responsibilities as assigned.Position Status:

This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.Minimum Education and Experience

Satisfactory completion of a postdoctoral degree as well as extensive experience with electron microscopy use.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be able to follow detailed laboratory instructions.Must be experienced with the dissection necessary to isolate the caudal corpus callosum for electron microscopic analysis.Must be sophisticated in handling the brains of demyelinated cuprizone treated mice and analysis of the roles played by metabotropic glutamate receptor agonists and BDNF in reversing demyelination.Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements.Work Environment: Moderate noise. Laboratory environment.Special Conditions
