Department of Mechatronics EngineeringFull-TimePosition OverviewJOB DESCRIPTIONMain Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo participate actively in teaching using innovative pedagogical styles linked with the use of information technology.To take responsibility for the development and delivery of learning, teaching materials, and assessment.To ensure that students have an effective learning experience by providing high-quality academic guidance.To undertake professional development in support of teaching and applied research, and if appropriate in support of student welfare and curriculum management.To demonstrate an innovative approach to teaching and support for students through the use of a wide range of learning resources and appropriate pedagogic practice.To undertake applied research through, as appropriate:
Contributing to innovative design, development, and delivery of a range of courses at various levels.Making a substantial contribution to curriculum design and delivery complying with the University quality standard and regulations, and being responsible for quality, audit, and other external assessments.Regularly reviewing and updating curriculum content and teaching materials, ensuring that they remain up-to-date and relevant, incorporating advances in the subject area and utilizing appropriate technology.Setting, marking, and assessing coursework and examinations; selecting appropriate assessment instruments and assessment criteria; and providing timely and constructive feedback to students.Actively maintaining an understanding of appropriate pedagogy in the subject area.
Besides these, the candidate is required to:
Maintain academic discipline, performance monitoring of junior teachers, maintain student records in the University management system, and be a member of the thesis defense panel and thesis supervision committee.Prepare and modify the course syllabus and course outlines.Conduct research in different areas and publish findings in scholarly journals.Perform academic administration & other activities as required (exam proctoring, viva conducting, registration duty, etc.).Meet with and report the activities to the Vice-Chancellor/President of the University/top Management.Assess students, which includes setting and marking assignments, class tests, and term papers/project works.Undertake any other duties as determined by the University Management and the Vice Chancellor.

such other duties as are within the scope of the spirit of the job purpose, the title of the post, and its grading.Supervision GivenSenior Teaching Fellow, Teaching Fellow, Sr. Lecturer, Lecturer, Instructors, and Research Associates as appropriate.Salary Range: BDT: Tk. 45,740/- to Tk. 81,344/- (Per Month)(Salary depending on qualifications preferably PhD degree, experiences, number of publications, and contribution to the University.)Person SpecificationATTRIBUTESESSENTIALEducation / Qualifications: Must have a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a 4-year Bachelor's degree from any recognized University.Teaching Experience: Must have 5 years of teaching experience with 3 years as Sr. Lecturer.Learning Support: Must be able to engage in subject, professional, and pedagogic as well as other scholarly activities relevant to the role.Job Related Skills and Capabilities: Ability to work independently, to take the initiative, and to innovate.Interpersonal Skills: Effective oral and written communication skills in both individual and group situations.Other Requirements: Willing to undertake academic activities in the evening when necessary, and participate in occasional weekend activities such as recruitment days.DESIRABLEResearch and relevant publications.Active membership or fellowship of a professional body such as IEB.Recognized teaching qualifications.Evidence of communication to the wider student experience e.g. in employability/enterprise initiatives, student welfare.Experience of leading-edge professional practice/consultancy work.Experience of mentoring or supporting more junior or less experienced colleagues.Start your application by clicking the "begin" button.
