: $50,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.SummaryAssistant Teaching Professor will teach courses in the Communication Department. The teaching load for the year is eighteen credits, or six (6) three-credit courses; the instructor will teach 3/3 load, at the discretion of the Department Co-Chairs. The position is also responsible for the oversight of digital filmmaking equipment maintenance and checkout.The instructor will teach Communication production courses, which may include COMM 2250 Introduction to Digital Filmmaking, COMM 3300 Screenwriting, and courses in special topics like commercial production.This instructor should demonstrate experience in digital filmmaking with some teaching experience.Essential FunctionsThe duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and integrate theory and practice that is essential to video production education.Ability to maintain and manage distribution of filmmaking equipment.Ability to work effectively with students of various ages and of diverse competencies and cultural backgrounds.Ability to contribute to a collegial and collaborative work environment.Qualifications

Minimum QualificationsApplicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.MA or MFA in Communication or a related field.A minimum of one semester/one quarter as the instructor of record in one or more communication courses.Preferred QualificationsExperience in the video production industry.Teaching in both lower level and advanced level courses in digital filmmaking.Successful teaching in online environments (both synchronous and asynchronous delivery methods).Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills.
