Fluvial Geomorphologist

to support major projects in our

Puget Sound region . This position will support a variety of assignments related to habitat restoration, fish passage, bank stabilization, and floodplain analysis. This position can be located in

Bellevue, Everett, Olympia, Seattle, or Tacoma . This position will require the candidate to utilize their expertise in water resources engineering related projects, including, but not limited to:Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and designCulvert and bridge hydraulicsStream, wetland, and habitat restoration designFeasibility studies and master plansEngineering and construction plans, specifications, and estimatesCoordination with regulatory agencies for project permittingCareer development trajectories for this role include task management, project management, and staff supervision. In-house and vendor-supplied training available for technical and managerial skills development.Position Responsibilities:Work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment and contribute to the growth of our Water Resources groupResponsible for planning and design of a wide range of water resources systems including hydraulic analysis for stream crossings and evaluating for fish passage and scourPerform field investigations and prepare reports to characterize natural channel processesPerform hydraulic analyses to support channel modificationsProvide recommendations for improving fish habitatKnowledge of local, state, and federal design standardsInterface with clients and public agencies on an as-needed basisAssistance in Business Development efforts (e.g. engagement in professional organizations and visibility efforts), preparing proposals and participating in interviews as neededBasic Qualifications:Licensed Geologist or Professional Engineer6 or more years of experience in design and construction experience with stream restoration including stream grading, habitat complexity features, Large Woody Material placement, and stream or river embankment stabilization.Leading project teams in collecting data, writing reports, and preparing plans specifications and cost estimates for river, estuary, and shoreline restoration projects.Preferred Qualifications:Successfully completed Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Fish Passage and Stream Restoration TrainingSuccessfully completed WSDOT and National Highway Institute (NHI) Scour Training coursesProject management and business development experience is beneficialProficient in common engineering software packages, including: Microstation OpenRoads, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, Civil3D, CivilStorm, StormShed, MGSFlood, SMS/SRH-2D, HEC-RAS 2D, HY-8, ArcGIS, and ExcelBenefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life InsuranceHealth Savings and Lifestyle Spending Account with employer contributionSupport for continuing education and training opportunitiesPaid Time Off (PTO)/Holiday Pay401k and Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP)Flexible 9/80 (every other Friday off) work scheduleHolistic Wellbeing Program with a focus on physical, emotional, financial, career and community healthOpportunity for growth with support and mentoring to help with professional goalsAnticipated salary range for this position is $100,000-$140,000 based on location and experience
