As an organization focused on sustainability, we are committed to protecting the environment while delivering this energy source.We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician/Field Technician/Sr. Field Technician in Bastrop, LA or Sterlington, LA.POSITION DESCRIPTION:This position is responsible for carrying out daily operations & maintenance tasks associated with pipeline activities and to assist with operations and maintenance of Texas Gas’s Bastrop and/or Guthrie Compressor Station facilities located in the Bastrop or Sterlington, Louisiana area. Specific duties will consist of, but are not limited to:Reading rectifiersValve inspection and maintenanceTank gaugingPipeline locatingPipeline patrollingGas samplingOne-callsPreventive pipeline maintenanceOperations related to meter station, valve site and right of way maintenanceGas quality monitoringAssisting with construction and repairs of pipelines and associated facilitiesThis position may occasionally be required to assist at other nearby areas. The successful candidate will be required to live within 30 miles of the Texas Gas Bastrop Area Office located in Bastrop, LA or the Guthrie Area Office located in Sterlington, LA.REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:1 to 5 years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical/oil industry experience.Excellent verbal communication skills, problem-solving skills, and a history of safe work are required.Ability to work outside in hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments.Ability to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs and ladders.Ability to utilize a PC and manage a filing system.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong mechanical aptitude.Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet.Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns.Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record, and the ability to pass auditory and optic exams.PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:3 (plus) years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience.REQUIRED EDUCATION:High school Diploma or equivalent.PREFERRED EDUCATION:Associate Degree related to the field of natural gas pipeline operations and maintenance.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Boardwalk Pipelines, LP maintains a drug-free workplace and will require pre-employment drug & substance abuse testing before hire.
