We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic APE Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing physical education programs tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities. The APE Teacher will collaborate with other educators and professionals to ensure that all students have access to meaningful physical education experiences that promote health, fitness, and overall well-being.Job Type: Per DiemJob Location: Los Angeles CA 90301, onsite$50-$100/hr.Key Responsibilities:Program Development: Develop and implement individualized adaptive physical education programs for students with disabilities based on their unique needs, abilities, and goals.Instruction: Provide engaging and inclusive physical education instruction that accommodates diverse learning styles and abilities.Assessment: Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate students' progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.Collaboration: Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, therapists, and other professionals to support the holistic development of students with disabilities.Inclusion: Promote inclusivity and create a supportive and welcoming environment where all students feel valued and empowered to participate in physical activities.Adaptations: Modify equipment, rules, and activities as necessary to ensure accessibility and safety for students with disabilities.Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders regarding students' progress, achievements, and challenges.Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices, research, and trends in adaptive physical education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in physical education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)Valid teaching certification/license in Physical Education or Special EducationExperience working with students with disabilities in an educational or recreational settingAdapted Physical Education (Cl-623) Added AuthorizationKnowledge of adaptive physical education principles, techniques, and strategiesStrong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skillsAbility to differentiate instruction and tailor lessons to meet individual student needsCommitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and equity in physical educationPhysical Requirements: The role may require the ability to participate in physical activities and demonstrate proper techniques to students.Working Conditions:This position typically operates within a school environment, including classrooms, gymnasiums, and outdoor spaces. The Adaptive Physical Education Teacher may also travel to different locations within the school or community to facilitate physical education programs and activities.
