Full time, exempt, 32 -40 hours per week

Reports to: Executive Director

Primary Location: Freehold

Salary Range: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00

The Director of Development is responsible for creating and supporting a donor-centric climate for charitable giving that broadens the base of support for and deepens the existing financial support for Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity while identifying potential donors, building strong donor relationships, and increasing donor confidence and satisfaction. The Director of Development will supervise and manage the Volunteer Coordinator, Marketing, Event, and Grant Writing staff and consultants.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with creation and implementation of Annual Development Plan and Annual Campaign in collaboration with the ED and Development Committee, measuring fundraising activities and reporting monthly;

Manage Annual Campaign to solicit donations and grow donor base;

Implement fundraising strategies for individuals, corporations, and foundations;

Increase stewardship with existing donors to cultivate/maintain strong relationships including but not limited to follow-up calling, mailings, and donor appreciation/thanks;

Manage the donor database and interface with the volunteer database;

Proactively identify potential new donors and prepare background briefings for prospect visits;

Oversee and coordinate all marketing, event, and communications efforts;

Oversee and assist with grant requests, monitoring, fulfillment, and reporting;

With volunteer coordinator, develop and coordinate strategies to foster volunteers to become financial donors;

Schedule cultivation/solicitation meetings for the ED, Board Members;

Participate in public speaking, networking, and outreach opportunities to share information and foster new potential donor relationships;

Represent Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity at events, and attend conferences/trainings as needed, supporting the mission and programs of Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity;

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications

BA/BS degree;

Minimum of 3 years fundraising experience;

Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic about working with staff, volunteers, and donors;

Established network of donor relationships within service area;

Experience in database administration, ability to use relevant technology, and willingness to learn;

Demonstrated commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds and in challenging situations with patience and compassion;

Persuasive written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and comfort with public speaking;

Ability to work well with a team, supervisory skills, and strong interpersonal skills;

Ability to pass criminal background screening as required by Habitat for Humanity International.

Measures of Success

Fulfillment of responsibilities described above;

Fluency with Donor database and ability to utilize the database to expand and increase volunteer, fundraising, and event goals;

Measured expansion of donor base and increased donor recognition and satisfaction;

Annual creation/update and successful documented implementation of development plan;

Increased presence and knowledge of organization through marketing, networking, and outreach;

Outstanding teamwork;

Consistent positive ambassador for Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity.

Note: The above list of duties while specific to the position is not exhaustive. The primary responsibility of the position is to direct the development department and assist the affiliate in achieving annual goals. Therefore, it is possible that responsibilities may change and increase as deemed necessary to accomplish that task.

Job Conditions:

Position is full time exempt (minimum 32 hours per week) and works Monday through Friday and evening and weekend work as required. It is an exempt position. Conditions and benefits are contained in the board-approved Employee Policies and Procedures Manual.
